There are 2 basic dog training commands that can be mastered: Sit and Down.

For a dog to be able to sit, the dog has to have already learn the heel command. Here’s how to teach the heel command to your dog. For you to teach your dog this command, you need to use a command phrase, that becomes a command word, and finally you need to have the dog sit. Your command phrase should be something that your dog would respond to as his name. Here are a few example commands:

Sit, down, where’s Betty, down, hello, good boy.

And to teach your dog the down command, you may need to kneel down and give your dog some treats. To teach your dog the down command, you need to do the following. First, you kneel down on the floor with your dog in your arms, and give him a treat. Once he is sure you aren’t going to attack him or give him a disease, you say down and then give him some treats.

With the down command, you can either kneel down, or kneel on the floor. With kneeling down, you kneel down in your arms. This has the same effect as kneeling down on the floor.

With kneeling down on the floor, you kneel down on the floor and give your dog a treat. Once he is sure you aren’t going to attack him or give him a disease, you say down and then give him some treats.
