If you want to have a good relationship with your dog, then successfully training your dog is a great way to achieve it.

It is in your nature to want to love and care for your dogs. Dogs are highly intelligent animals and want to be loved and cared for. Training helps you build a relationship of trust and confidence with your dog. With training, you will be able to show your dog affection, praise and rewards. These three key words will help build a stronger relationship between you and your dog.

Dogs have a high prey drive. They want to please their owner. In the wild, this would be how they survive. A dog is not likely to attack a pigeon or chicken without their owner’s permission. So, if you train them properly and get them to obey the basic commands you give, they will be able to focus on what they are trained to do and do it well.

The reward system in the human brain is very different from that of the canine. With the human reward system, we would like to be praised, rewarded or given something for doing something correctly. Dogs have no concept of reward. In the dog world, praise is their natural reward. But if you have taught them that praise is their reward, you might as well forget it. This doesn’t work in the dog world. So, don’t offer praise, even if they do it correctly. Reward them with something else, something that you want them to do, again, in the dog world, praise is their natural reward. But give them the command and they will be happy to do it even if it isn’t praise-worthy.

The dog world is a tough place to train. There are many variables. Your dog will have several ideas about how they should behave. You must learn the differences between how they should and shouldn’t behave. The more you learn and understand the better off you will be.
